Apartment description
This studio apartment is located at the 4th floor of the front side of a building with 10 studio apartments in total. The building dates from the 19th century and is completely renovated in 2006. With this renovation they have saved the authentic style very well and have thought of all wishes and demands for a perfect short term visit in Barcelona.
The living room with the 2 French balconies give a nice view into an arrow and cosey street, so typical for the area Ribera.
From the entrance a small hall leads to the kitchen, which is modern equipped with for example an oven, dishwasher, fridge, microwave and coffee maker. It is an open kitchen, directly connected with the living. In the living area there is a 2-seat-sofa and a lounge chair for a nice television watching evening.
In the same area there are also 2 separate single beds which can be stored easily via a smart system into a bookcase. Besides that there is a small separate room with 1 small single bed (for a child) that can be locked with a door. The bathroom is located behind this small room and has a shower, toilet and sink.
The common large roof terrace, to be entered via the stairs or elevator, gives a great view over the Gothic area. A great place to sit down and relax with a glass of wine after a nice touristy day. Also to be shared with the other apartments is the washing area downstairs in the building (with a washing machine, dryer, iron and iron board).
For those who don’t need an extra small bed and/or prefer 1 double bed, we also offer the apartment at the other side of the building: apartment 'San Juan 42'.
Around the area of the apartment
The Santa Caterina district is located around the market of the same name “El Mercado de Santa Caterina” reformed by the famous architect Enric Miralles and it has become a place of cult for architecture students from all over the world. The city council of Barcelona invests great sums of money in this district because of its great potential and fantastic location between the park “Parque de la Ciutadella” and the Cathedral square “Plaza de la Catedral”.
