In the centre of the Gothic district of Barcelona, is the gothic cathedral, known as La Seu. The cathedral is officially names Cathedral de la Santa Crue i Santa Eulalia, after Barcelona’s patron Saint Eulalia. The cathedral was finished in 1913, 615 years after construction started.

Adjacent to the cathedral is a 14th century cloister. There are always 13 geese in its central courtyard. The cloister also contains a small museum with liturgist artifacts.

In the Gothic Area, a few steps from Las Ramblas you will find Plaça Reial. This is a large, regal square with a Gaudi fountain right in the middle, and with great palm trees and renaissance architecture. It is always full with tourists, young travellers and students. The square is surrounded by cafes, terraces and bars to enjoy the view of Plaza Real. During the nights the square comes alive at night with its discos and live Flamenco.
